EDMS Access and Pricing

Access to the ASEE Engineering Data Management System

The EDMS has detailed data from 2001 on enrollment, degrees awarded, faculty headcounts and research expenditures broken down by engineering discipline and race/ethnicity & gender (where relevant) from participating institutions for Engineering and Engineering Technology.

Please note that the pricing for non-participating institutions includes a discount for ASEE membership. Access is granted for one year from time of payment.

The traditional profiles cycle is that data is submitted by January 31 and is posted in the EDMS late March to mid April for each survey year. Since the pandemic, some institutions have required a lot more time. We upload the data into the EDMS for those that have submitted in late March and then as we process new data until May.

Institutional or Corporate Access

Email data@asee.org for purchasing details and to setup an account.

  1. Access will be provided for free ($0) to the ASEE Institutional Key Contact and designated additional organizational contacts at institutions that have submitted data (i.e. colleges or universities) for the current year. Any other persons within an ASEE participating member institution, will have to have approval from the ASEE Institutional Key Contact to access the EDMS for institutional business. 
  2. Non-participating academic institutions or Non-profit Institutions can access for $2,000 if ASEE members and $5,000 for non-members per survey year.
  3. For-profit institutions can access the EDMS for $3,000 if ASEE members and $5,000 for non-members per survey year.

Access for institutions is provided for a calendar year from the receipt of payment and there can be multiple accounts setup to access the data.

Educational researchers can access the EDMS for a 3-month period for $500.00 by sending a request to data@asee.org and a brief 1-page abstract describing the work the data will be used for.

The ASEE Profiles of Engineering and Engineering Technology Survey is an annual survey completed by institutions with ABET accredited engineering and engineering technology programs. For each year, we have a set data collection time frame that is parallel for 2022 dates listed below (the most recent year).

Fall 2022: institution enrollments, engineering college enrollments, engineering technology college enrollments, faculty head counts, admission requirements and recommendations, and personnel information.

July 1, 2021–June 30, 2022: Degrees awarded

Please report research expenditures based on your most recently completed fiscal year ending in 2022.

Please report student expenses for the 9-month academic year beginning in Fall 2022.
